TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE
The Treatment
Depending on the type of problem, it may take up to 1½ hours on the first visit. Subsequent visits last approximately 1 hour. All aspects of the person are taken into consideration when the assessment is being made. Past and current medical history, family, lifestyle, diet and emotional factors are all part of the evaluation. The diagnosis includes examination of the tongue and pulse as part of the process of determining the pattern of illness. Persons currently taking medication should bring these along for the first visit.
The entire treatment is safeguarded by total confidentiality. Since each person is unique the number of treatments required will vary. The treatment programme will be discussed with you on your first visit.
What is Traditional Chinese Medicine used for?
Like all forms of TCM, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, strive to boost, reinforce, strengthen and invigorate the Qi. Acupuncture employs finest needles, applied to the skin, to drive out unhealthy Qi and restore healthy circulation of optimal Qi. Herbs do likewise but "from the inside". The herbs are ingested and work away, silently and unseen, to do their restorative, regenerative or vitalising work.
